Why candidates fail
here are the most common reasons for driving test failure:
· Lack of observation moving off, at junctions, at roundabouts and when changing lanes
· neglecting to anticipate the actions of other road users
· Incorrect road position
· Not maintaining progress at junctions, roundabouts, on the straight, and when overtaking
· Failure to use mirrors properly and in good time and misleading use of signals
· Failire to comply with traffic controls, eg road markings and traffic lights
· Incorrect, use of vehicle controls, including gears, clutch, accelerator, steering, handbrake,
footbrake.
· Not adjusting speed to suit road or traffic conditions
· Failure to yield the right of way.
· Poor judgement in the reverse and turnabout manoeuvres
If you fail or are unsuccessful in your driving test, the best way to get a pass next time is to take
additional driving lessons with a driving school that can asses and identify under developed
areas in your driving, this will give you more road experience and confidence.
